Structure for Standard comma-delimited file
Data in this format can be imported into the
CRIS 123AD419 spreadsheet template, and if exported from a spreadsheet or any
other program in this format, funding data can be imported into
the CRIS Web forms where it can be checked and submitted to CRIS.
The 123AD419 spreadsheet has 30 columns and each project uses one row.
Row 1 is
the summary AD-419 (calculated), row 2 is a divider, and row 3 contains
column headers. The first column is labeled PROJECT NUMBER, the
second, ACCESSION, and the next 24 are the line item numbers for
all rows on the AD-419 except the rows that relate to totals (fields
231, 233, 234, 332, and 350). The last 3 colums are calculated subtotals.
The original CRIS spreadsheet template ASSUMED that the staff
effort line items are entered as effort * 10 (so that no decimal is entered).
Since most users have been entering the decimal despite these instructions,
we are now departing from the manual instruction on this.
Line items 241-244 are no longer 10 times the actual
when placed in or read from the comma-delimited file.
The comma-delimited data file should contain only the individual project
data on rows 4 - last project and only columns A through Z. The comma-
delimited file looks like this:

Structure for CRIS "tape format" files
Data in this format can be imported directly into CRISFRMS or the
Web forms. If your site has been submitting AD-419 data to CRIS
electronically but not using a spreadsheet, this is the format that
has been used for many years.
Note that line items 241-244 are entered as 10 times the actual
so that no decimal points are included in the data file. All data
placed in or read from a .tap file are assumed to be 10 times the
actual effort entered.

Structure for dBASE III AD-419 files
Data in this format can be imported directly into CRISFRMS using the
item "Input AD-419 data from a file" on the AD-419 MENU and format
"D DBase data file with specified fields."
