Ted Bauer, Director Current Research Information System CRISFRMS WORLD WIDE WEB SITE UPDATE ====================================================== http://ctr.uvm.edu/cris/ The complete "Manual for Preparing CRIS Forms AD-416/417/421" and the "Manual for Preparing CRIS Form AD-419" are now available on the Web. You'll find these links at the bottom of the homepage shown above. If you have been reading this news posting, you know that the AD-421 WebForms are available for use. The process was used by 10 sites this year to collect and submit AD-421s. We tested two different processes. For most sites, the data collected via WebForms was downloaded and imported into CRISFRMS, then the usual files were generated and sent to CRIS. For some sites, CRISFRMS was not used at all, but the data files for CRIS were generated and submitted to CRIS entirely via a Web process. This is the system that will be implemented for the upcoming AD-421 reporting season. Lots of great suggestions were made by participants and we implemented those in time to show at the CSREES Administrative Officers' Conference in San Antonio, Texas April 1-4. That meeting generated even more good suggestions which are now being implemented. To test the AD-421 WebForms, select "Using CRIS WebForms" on the homepage shown above. An "Executive Summary" is also available from this link. Contact Pat Downer (pdowner@zoo.uvm.edu) if you have tried the test and would like to participate, or if you have problems or suggestions. In order to participate, you will need to provide a working email address that you check regularly. The AD-416/417 forms are under development and should be available for general testing and use in late May.
