IMPORTANT - - - If you had any AD-421s currently in progress on the 1997 checklist in the Web Forms that you did not submit to CRIS, YOU WILL NOT SEE THEM on the 1998 checklist. If you feel you must access any reports on your 1997 Web Forms checklist, contact Pat Downer (pdowner@zoo.uvm.edu).

Normally there is no reason to do this as you can always view submitted AD-421s on CRISTEL. The 1998 checklist is a clean slate, reflecting all processing completed at CRIS as of Sept. 28, 1998.

Also on October 1, the default reporting period dates for your site were automatically changed to the 1998 reporting period (either FY or calendar year 1998 whichever period you had used in 1997).

Something new -- the AD-419 Web programs. The default reporting period for that is also set to FY 1998.

You must remember to do the following using the Administrative Function "Edit Site Information":

• select whether or not you want users to be able to access the AD-421 forms, the AD-416/417 forms, the AD-419 forms

  IMPORTANT -- We set all AD-421 access off as of 3:30 Sept. 30 to prevent new in-progress reports that could probably NOT get submitted before the cutover. We then set all access back to the way it was as of 3:30. So if you changed your AD-421 access after 3:30 Sept. 30, it may not be set as you intend. Please check it.

• set the passwords for your site -- THERE ARE NOW SEPARATE PASSWORDS for AD-421s, AD-416/417s, and AD-419s. By default, the AD-416/417 and AD-421 passwords are the same (your current site password), and the AD-419 password is the same as your admin password.

  MAINTAIN A BASIC LEVEL OF SECURITY BY CHANGING YOUR STIE PASSWORD SO IT DIFFERS FROM THE ONE INVESTIGATORS USED LAST YEAR.

• correct any names and email addresses that may have changed
